Why Custom Framing Is Worth It
Custom framing is worth it when the piece matters. A frame is not just decoration around the edge of a print. It protects the artwork, controls how the eye reads it, and helps the finished piece feel intentional in a home, studio, office, or gallery wall.
Ready-made frames can work for simple projects, but they often force the artwork into a size, colour, or mat style that was not chosen for the piece. Custom framing starts with the artwork itself: the size, tones, texture, subject, and where it will be displayed.
Protection comes first
A proper frame helps keep artwork flat, supported, and separated from the glass when a mat is used. For valuable originals, photography, limited editions, or family pieces, archival materials can make a real difference over time.
Presentation changes everything
The right frame can make a print feel larger, calmer, bolder, warmer, or more refined. A white mat can create breathing room. A black frame can add contrast. Oak can soften a piece and bring warmth. Small choices change the whole read of the artwork.
Why work with a local framer?
Seeing frame samples beside the real artwork is hard to replace. At 905Print, we can help you compare mat colours, frame profiles, and finished sizing in person. We can also connect framing decisions with print decisions when you are producing a piece from scratch.
If you are preparing artwork, photography, gifts, certificates, or exhibition pieces, custom framing helps the final result feel complete. Book a framing consultation or visit us in Hamilton to compare options in person.
